Solar Panel Rant!

I had a number of subjects lined up to write about on this post. But the subject I’ve written has turned into an anti-government rant! This is following something I read into this morning, and it’s something that makes my blood boil!

I recently posted on here about how I go about trying to reduce my outlay on my utilities bills, you know, claw a little back on your water bills, electricity and gas etc. All small savings individually, but when combined during the winter months, can turn out to be substantial savings.

Photo Voltaic Tiles – A growth industry.

The thing is, there has been one area of growth that has been bucking the trend in terms of growth during this current economic downturn. Sod it! Lets call it what it actually is. A Recession. This growth area is the solar photo voltaic installation industry.

It would appear that the energy fat cats are running scared to their pals in the UK government, who they can count on to protect their vast profits, seemingly complaining that “helping people to reduce their energy bills isn’t really on old boy!”

The UK government have then decided (in its finite wisdom) to slash the assistance it gives to homeowners to have solar panels installed, and thus begin to reduce their energy bills. What this one-eyed coalition don’t seem to realise is, the consequences of their actions are going to be devastating to thousands of people employed in this area.

They are going to take a growth industry, rip it to pieces then toss it in the trash can, along with with the livelihood of many people employed in the industry. I also suspect this is happening, or will happen, in other western, capitalist economies.

A pair of politicians taking a walk!

When are these idiots actually going to “wake up and smell the coffee?”  The only way to get out of this financial mire is by creating jobs, creating a bit of financial security. Maybe then, people will start spending money and start helping to lift us out of the sticky stuff we’re currently bogged down in. Common sense really.

Until the next time, keep your chin up, and be wise.
