It’s Been A Long Time!!!
It’s been a long time coming, but at last it’s here. I’m talking about this article. Over 2 months since the last one is a long time.
So why the big gap between posts?
Unfortunately my day job got in the way. I drove a bus for a living, and most of my shifts were quite long. I was getting out of bed at 04:30 and not returning home until after 18:30 most of the time. As you can imagine, driving around a busy city centre for 9/10 of those hours tends to fry the old grey matter.
Even switching on the PC to check emails could feel like a massive, unwelcome chore, and quite often I could go a couple of days without going near the PC!
So as much as I love posting articles, I needed to think about keeping my job so I could continue to feed and clothe myself and my daughter, Not to mention keeping a roof over our heads. Well that issue is no longer an issue. You see, I’ve been dismissed!
Earlier this month, because I had a very minor incident, which resulted in nobody being hurt, and the only damage to the other vehicle involved, was a couple of small scratches which would polish out. I was deemed an insurance risk!!! Forget the faultless record prior to that huh!
Sorry, but that’s BS, it was nothing to do with being an insurance risk! No, the fact is I was one of a group of drivers who signed a letter to management asking for an improvement in our working conditions. That’s it! We were not involving unions. We just wanted some safety improvements, and we wanted paying for the hours we were putting in.
We thought if we approached management in an appropriate manner, the issues would be dealt with to the benefit of all concerned. We signed and handed that letter in to management eight weeks ago. I am the sixth of those signatories who has been given the bullet since! It would seem that we are all being seen as troublesome subversives.
The guys were talking about joining a union. I hope for their sake that they do, it’s the only way that they will bring about safer working practices, and receive due payment for the hours they are putting in.
The big downer about that is, I’m now rejoining the growing mass of people struggling just to exist! The upside is I can get back to doing something I enjoy. Writing and posting articles. I’m going to be putting my research head on, and sitting down at my desk and getting new articles ready for posting soon. I hope to be putting another new article up in the next week or so, so please stay tuned.
Until the next time, keep your chin up.

Hmm i hope you do not get offended with this question, but how much does a site like yours earn?
It hasn’t earned me a dime from day 1. I still continue with it because I enjoy doing it
